Insurance 2007

The Insurance year commences on March 1st each year. A Certificate of Currency and policy details are provided to each insured member by our Broker.

Insurance for one off events of for only part of a year will need to be arranged direct with our Insurance Broker, our Account Executive is Mr Ken Loy on  02- 9683.0922 at AON

Renewals -

Insurance is renewed each year for 12 months on the 1^st March.

New Applications  -

1. During March all applications are at the full rate for 12 months cover,

2. After March all applications are at a pro-rata per quarter for the remaining portions of the insurance year.

    Email the secretary to confirm pro-rata rates, shown below in the table.

PRO-RATA applies only in the first year of Application if less than one year before renewal is due. This does not apply for Applications if your were insured in the previous year.

Please note that the Policy document is retyped and any discrepancy between it and the actual Policy is a typing error and the Policy prevails.

Our Broker is -

our Underwriters are shown in the Policy Document.

This policy has the option of $10M or $20M Cover, 24hrs/day 7days/week,

anywhere in Australia and includes the usual fund-raising events held each year, but does not include major organised events that require street closures, large Halls or Crowd Control.

The policy is offered to members of the ASA and members of any organisation that is party to an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the ASA.

An excess applies for each claim, the amount is

$250.00 for $10M cover and

$500.00 for $20M cover

The limit of this policy is as per your chosen cover -

for the one person in the case of individual membership, or

for the number of people specified on the application form in the case of group membership.

This policy in brief covers up to the limit of your chosen cover per claim against damages for which the organiser/s of the event are found to be responsible and liable as a result of claims made by the public. The policy covers liability for property damage resulting in bodily injury, caused by the failure of equipment, materials or facilities in the venue or location used by the member for an event to which the public have been invited.

The policy includes all the usual functions of the group during their normal activities, including the usual and local fund-raising psychic fairs and fete's.

NOTE - Larger events have special conditions and are reviewed for each occasion with a premium surcharge or separate cover specifically for that event. The policy defines a major event to include Street Fairs/Markets, Street Closures, Major Exhibitions/Trade Shows or Displays. eg Mind, Body and Spirit Festivals, any event where a large number of people are involved, typically any more than about 200-300 at any given time.

The ASA requires notice of all  events.

Your normal activities would be included in the Church and Centre or Group Listing.

Your Fund-raising events such as fairs, fetes, and any large events and festivals would all be shown on our Events Register.

The Renewal and Pro-rata Insurance Rates are as follows -

1. Refer to the column downwards that applies to your membership, then

2. Refer to the row across for the Month of Application

3. The cell where your Column and Row cross shows your Rate.

For Renewal the Row is always March

For New Cover the Row is the Month of Application

The Fee includes the Premium, total GST, Stamp Duty, and an ASA Administration Fee. The total GST content is shown for refund purposes.

Please note -

a) for the yellow columns you must be a member of the ASA.

b) for the MOU column you must be a member of an MOU Organisation.

If you are applying for Insurance for the first time, you must also include -

a) a signed ASA Membership Form and Application Fee, or

b) a signed Statement of Membership with an MOU Organisation.

Professional Indemnity Insurance - (PI) –

NOT YET AVAILABLE

This type of policy will include Spiritual Healers who work for or within a Church, or work as a Professional in their own or someone's business.

The ASA will shortly have a policy for this cover.

The qualification for this cover requires at least 100hr practical experience in each modality that you seek to have included in the policy. Further information will be made available shortly.
