An Application for New Membership requires a once only $10.00 Application Fee,  with no GST applicable.

Renewal for all Categories of Membership is due each year on or before March 1st.

 

The ASA has various categories of membership and involvement to cater for the varying situations of members and people who wish to support, assist or be a part of the association.

Supporter (S) – is the basic level of personal involvement without being a member and includes a subscription to our Magazine and membership rates at ASA events.

 

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP -

Individual (I) – Is full individual membership with full voting rights and each vote the member casts is counted as one (in a group each vote cast is counted as three). This member may be an independent and  sole provider of services whether for financial benefit or not and may also hold membership within a group member. The member has the option of Insurance through the ASA.

Concession (C) – An Individual member at Concession rates. The concession rates apply if the Individual member can provide a Senior Citizen or Pensioner entitlement card or is a Self-Funded Superannuation Retiree. This type of member may assist a group member. Accreditation or Insurance is not available to this category of membership.

Healer (H) - Is an Individual member who has been accepted for Registration by the ASA as a Healer (Not yet available)

Reader (R) - Is an Individual member who has been accepted for Registration by the ASA as a  Reader (Not yet available)

Trainer (T) - Is an Individual member who has been accepted for Registration by the ASA as a Trainer or Teacher (Not yet available)

GROUP MEMBERSHIP -

Associate Group (G) – Is a stand alone independent group that has associated itself with the ASA for support and other ancillary benefits. The group has full voting rights through its nominated representative and each vote cast is counted as three. The group may be of any format and is fully responsible for it’s own management and decisions. If a Group has regular religious services, such as Namings, Weddings, Funerals, etc it should have an appointed  minister of religion and be identified as and be called a Church. If it does not have regular religious services and has only church services, meditation, healing or such like activities it has no need for a minister and should be identified as and be called a Centre. The group may be a business. The group member has the option of Insurance through the ASA.

Affiliate Group (A) - Is a group that was an Independent group and has affiliated and become a local branch of the ASA. The group originally purchased its assets from its own funds. The group has voting rights through its nominated representative. The group may be either a Church or Centre. The group is a part of the ASA and therefore fully responsible and accountable to the ASA and as such has the ASA in its’ title and accounts. The group is covered by the Insurance Policies of the ASA.

Affiliation is only available to a group that is not incorporated. Affiliation has conditions and an application form is available from our Secretary . It also has other benefits such as a much reduced Insurance Fee.

 

Branch Group (B) - Is a Group that has been established and formed by the ASA. All the assets have been purchased by the ASA. The group has voting rights through its nominated representative and each vote cast is counted as three. The group may be either a Church or Centre. The group is a part of the ASA and therefore fully responsible and accountable to the ASA and as such has the ASA in its’ title and accounts. The group is covered by the Insurance Policies of the ASA.

If it is considered that a Church or Centre should be formed in a particular area please contact our Secretary.

 

MOU Group Member (M) - Is a group that is a member of one of the organisations that is party to the MOU - Memorandum of Understanding. Membership fees, if any, are paid to the organisation to which they belong. The group may take advantage of the Public Liability Insurance through the ASA either directly with the ASA or through the MOU Organisation.

Other benefits will become available as agreed under the MOU.

Note: The Fee includes GST. The GST amount is given for GST refunds, if applicable.

           Membership fees, if any, for Group M are paid to their MOU organisation

Please note that all Applications for membership must be approved by the Management Committee. All Applications received are submitted for consideration at the next Management Committee meeting. The Management Committee meets on the 3rd Sat of each Month except December. It would be appreciated if applications are received a week before the next meeting.

 

When the Management Committee approves an application for membership our Rules state that the applicant is only a member when their name is recorded in the Membership Register. It is only then that the applicant is officially a member and entitled to all rights, such as a voting.

 

When Insurance is also required please refer to the Insurance page for Rates and an Application Form. Insurance is available to all categories of membership except Concession members.
